Efficacy
This medicine is used for the treatment of infections caused by roundworms, pinworms, hookworms, whipworms, American hookworms, and threadworms, as well as mixed infections of these parasites.
Dosage
Adults and children aged 24 months and older should take 1 tablet (400 mg) once daily for pinworm infection. For complete eradication, take one additional tablet (400 mg) after 7 days. For infections with roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and American hookworms, take 1 tablet (400 mg) as a single dose. For mixed infections with Strongyloides, other parasites (tapeworms), or severe symptoms, take 1 tablet (400 mg) once daily for 3 days. If swallowing is difficult, the tablet may be chewed or taken with a small amount of water; no special procedures such as fasting or using laxatives are required. If the infection is not cured upon examination 3 weeks after treatment, a second dose may be administered if necessary.
Precautions
Do not take this medicine if you are hypersensitive to this drug, pregnant or potentially pregnant, breastfeeding, a child under 2 years of age, or have genetic problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Before taking this medicine, consult a doctor or pharmacist if you have liver or kidney impairment, or if you are hypersensitive to or have a history of hypersensitivity to Sunset Yellow FCF (Yellow No. 5).
