Efficacy
This medicine is used as an adjunctive therapy for smoking cessation.
Dosage
Adults should apply one patch once daily to a hairless body part (e.g., buttocks, inner arm), changing the application site daily.Nicostop-30 is generally for smokers consuming 20 or more cigarettes per day, while Nicostop-20 is for smokers consuming up to 20 cigarettes per day.Nicostop-10 is used in the final stage to reduce nicotine supplementation.For heavy smokers, start with Nicostop-30, then Nicostop-20, and finally Nicostop-10, each for 4 weeks.For regular smokers, apply Nicostop-20 for 8 weeks, followed by Nicostop-10 for 4 weeks.Do not exceed 3 months of treatment.
Precautions
If you continue to smoke while using this medicine, cardiovascular side effects due to nicotine may occur more frequently and prominently. Therefore, only patients who have completely quit smoking should use this medicine.
Do not use this medicine if you have hypersensitivity to this medicine, chronic skin diseases (psoriasis, chronic dermatitis, urticaria), systemic skin diseases, hypersensitivity dermatitis, unstable angina, worsening angina, myocardial infarction within the last 3 months, late stage of acute infarction, severe cardiac arrhythmia, systemic hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, cerebrovascular disease (acute stroke, cerebrovascular abnormalities), are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18 years of age (children and adolescents), are a non-smoker or occasional smoker.Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have gastritis, peptic ulcer, occlusive arterial disease, stable angina, heart failure, decompensated heart failure, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmia, vasospasm, uncontrolled hypertension, arterial bypass graft or angioplasty, renal failure, hepatic failure, diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, or pheochromocytoma.
